Description

Country Fried Steak imported from Recipe Import

Ingredients

1 lb
tenderized round steak
2
egg
2⁄3 c
milk
1 T
hot sauce
2 c
flour
2 t
baking powder
2 t
salt
1 t
pepper
1⁄2 t
cayenne pepper
1
oil

country gravy

Instructions

Take 2 shallow bowls. In one bowl whisk together egg, milk, and hot sauce. In the other bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Add oil to frying pan so that it is 1/4-1/2 inch deep. Heat on medium high heat.

Dredge steak in flour and shake off any excess. Dip in egg wash and then dredge back in the flour mixture.

Place steak in hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes then gently flip, making sure the coating stays in tact. Fry for 3-5 minutes on the other side. Both sides should be crispy and lightly brown in color.

Remove steak from oil and drain on paper towel. Serve with country gravy.
